Neil Carpenter

11822632_898073416934127_2815667842975184044_nBorn November 30th, 1973 in Rock Island, IL. Neil Carpenter was born to rock!! At just 4 years old, Neil began to bang on the drums. After years of training on the drums, Neil picked up the guitar at age 10 to begin writing his own music. This also lead to learning the bass guitar, as well as the piano. Neil spent his teen years in and out of several bands where all these skills were utilized.

In 1995 Neil joined the power/pop band The Ravens, as their bass player. The Ravens would eventually evolve into Blackbird Abbey, with whom Neil would record 2 CDs and tour the southeast for 7 years.

In 2002 Neil joined the Rock band Ghostbox, as their bass player. Ghostbox ROCKED it’s way into all the major venues in Central Florida including the Hard Rock LIVE and The 2003 Deland Music Festival.11008822_411503625687200_4705946474595109874_n

2003 opened up a whole ‘new world’ for Neil when he took his experienced bass playing to the band House Party. As the house band for The Legendary Why Not Lounge for over 8 years, the members of House Party have forged a musical partnership that has lasted over 10 years!

“Music is my life…” Neil has played bass with several bands over the years,
including Casteen Road in 2011, and in 2012 Neil took to the stage with One Wild Nite all over Central Florida. Neil has also worked with Top Secret, Rodeo Drive, Showdown, Punching Judy, and The Millionaires. Just to name a few!!

In 2013 Neil re-entered the world of original music with Outbound Road.

He met the boys from Black Canvas at MixMonsterz Studio where they were recording their new Record.

Neil now joins a group of players to create a whole new direction for himself and BLACK CANVAS!
